Webp.net compress image 1Dr. Erica Steele is the founder of Holistic Family Practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she specializes in natural health-care, healing, disease prevention and total, holistic wellness.

As a naturopathic doctor (ND), doctor of natural medicine (DNM) and certified functional medicine practitioner (CFMP), Dr. Steele prides herself on practicing safe, effective methodology within the realms of proven science. She holds doctorate degrees in natural medicine and naturopathic medicine from the University of Natural Medicine in San Dimas, California, and bachelor’s degrees in natural healthcare sciences and alternative medicine. She has trained in gross anatomy at the University of South Florida School of Medicine, has studied human biochemistry with a subspecialty in functional medicine through Functional Medicine University and is currently pursuing another subspecialty in integrative Medicine through the College of Integrative Medicine. She completed her second bachelor’s degree in alternative medicine through Everglades University, in July of 2017. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Public Health with an emphasis in Complementary and Alternative Medicine through Everglades University. She is a lifelong learner and will not stop her continued educational journey until completed her PHD in Mind-Body Medicine.

From this unique depth and breadth of knowledge Dr. Steele employs multi-faceted and synergistic approaches to physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Her work often supplements, complements or co-manages that of her patients’ general physicians, surgeons, nutritionists, therapists and other health-care providers. Since 2001, she has helped transform the lives of countless children, teens, adults and elderly patients who have endured an array of conditions ranging from digestive and immune-related challenges to neurological conditions, biochemical and hormonal imbalances and more.

Dr. Steele hails from Southern California and the wonderment of her family’s fascinating world of science, health and holistic healing. Her mother is a practicing Native American spiritualist and shaman who shared her deep love and understanding of the art and science with her growing daughter. As an adult, Dr. Steele trained with hundreds of healers, doctors and natural-health specialists to hone her own skills as a homeopathic practitioner and healer, and she also specialized in chronic pain, sports injuries and post-surgery therapy as a nationally certified massage therapist for more than a decade.

Her practice today provides the services, education and resources necessary for patients to achieve and sustain their potential for optimal health and healthy lifestyles. These include: educational courses, detoxification services, consultations, therapeutic services, laboratory panels to uncover nutrient deficiencies, and such modalities as homeopathy, herbology and hypnotherapy.

Dr. Steele works with wisdom, experience and diligence to uncover the causes of disease and illness so her patients can advance from lives of managing symptoms to lives of restorative, sustainable well-being and optimal total health.
